Early Childhood

About the program

The New Music School Early Childhood program is taught to students ages 1.5 to 3 years old. Aleksandra Jovanovic teaches students the Kodály method, developing ear and sight-singing abilities in children. Singing traditional Americana folk songs, as well as folk songs from all over the world, Aleksandra works on developing the ear of each child. Additionally, children learn doh - re - mi - in fixed doh and hand gestures. Recognizing the two foundations of music are melody and rhythm, the Early Childhood Class teaches children rhythm with creative movement lessons to reinforce and learn meter (beat).
