Our Students and Parents

Meet some of them...

“I enjoy my experience at NMS, and particularly the master classes. They open my eyes to different perspectives and complete my understanding of my repertoire.”

Zarin Mehta
NMS Piano Student

“Through music I have learned that it is alright to lean on others for help, how to take feedback and criticism about certain attributes of my voice and body, as well as how to use that feedback in order to enhance parts of my life in and out of singing.”

Shayan Ramchandran
NMS Voice Student

“Mr. Tim has been instrumental in our daughters progress playing the violin and continues to be such an inspiration. ”

GETTING STARTED

At New Music School, our priority is ensuring that there is a healthy student/teacher relationship. Once you are ready to start your child with lessons, NMS will set up an initial private lesson with a recommended teacher. After the initial lesson, you will have the opportunity to enroll in the program or request an initial lesson with a different instructor.

BEGINNERS

Students that are just beginning or are still in the beginning levels of their instrument will be placed with one of our foundational instructors for an initial lesson.

INTERMEDIATE

Students with this level of experience will be placed with an instructor and complete a placement jury at the end of the first semester to determine their curriculum house.

ADVANCED

Students who are at an advanced level of playing will audition to study with an NMS artist level instructor. Based on that audition, the student will be placed with the appropriate level teacher.

Get started by filling out the More Info Form or contact NMS directly at 312 612 1969.

Our true reason.

We never forget who we're working for. Our students and their families are our motivation, our drive, and the reason for doing what we do. New Music School's students and their parents define our institution and constitute the core and the focus of our progressive community.

By nurishing comprehensive relationships with the whole family, we are able to make our learning experience an integral part of the family's life, going far beyond just plain music lessons.

This approach is what sets us apart from the rest and it's what enables us to realize each student's maximum potential within a continuous dynamic both at school and at home.

Whether simply taking lessons as a beginner exploring a new interest or as an advanced student preparing for orchestral studies, we promote a comprehensive and inclusive approach to the music learning experience.

Take a look at some of our students and parents profiles and learn how New Music School has been a part of each of these great lives.
